 In addition to our primary advocacy role, CASA offers “Our Kids First,” a class for parents who are in the process of divorce. Divorcing parents are required by Colorado law to attend a class that deals with the impact of divorce on children. “Our Kids First” satisfies that requirement. Trained master’s level professionals teach the class which is offered monthly. CASA began offering “Our Kids First” in 2003. In 2010, 55 parents participated in the class and those divorcing adults are the parents of 93 children. By offering this class, CASA strives to lessen the negative effects of divorce on a child and limit the stress and conflict these children frequently experience. WHAT:
